Volkart Wildermuth
Volkart, born 3.9.1962, studied biochemistry in Tübingen and Berlin. At the same time, he worked as a reporter for Südwestfunk. After graduating, he concentrated entirely on journalism. In 1991/92 he completed a traineeship at WDR.
As a freelance writer, he initially reported from Berlin. Since 1996, he has concentrated on science journalism. Since then, his short reports and longer programs have been broadcast regularly on Deutschlandfunk and Westdeutscher Rundfunk, on other ARD stations, and occasionally on Swiss, Austrian, and Australian radio. They have been awarded several prizes. Among others, Volkart Wildermuth received the Wilhelm and Ingeborg Roloff Prize in 2009, the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism in 2010, and the DGPPN Media Prize for Science Journalism in 2015, and the "World Population" Media Prize in 2018.
